Atari has picked up the rights to Vivendi's Ghostbusters tie-in.

The news comes from Ghostbusters' very own Ray Stanz, aka actor and writer Dan Aykroyd, who told Dallas radio station 105.3 KLLI that Atari has picked up the rights.

The future of the project was in jeapardy following Activision's merger with Vivendi and it's decision to drop this and other games.

Aykroyd, who is involved with the videogame script says we're still a year away from the game being released.
